The Smiths | Family Session

I've said it before but honestly, one of the very best parts of what I do is getting to work with amazing clients and to be present for special moments in their life.  After photographing someone's wedding or the first days of their newborn baby, or even photographing their family for a Christmas card, you feel a special connection to them.  I often find myself "friending" clients on facebook because they truly do become friends!  And when they call me for a second (and sometimes third, fourth and fifth) session, it's always so great to catch up.  I say all that to introduce you to the Smiths!  I was able to do newborn photos for them when Asher was brand new, so it was so great to see them again, a few months later, for a mini session.  Asher had grown so much and it was just awesome to spend 20 minutes with them enjoying an incredibly beautiful and warm December day.  Thanks Brittany and Brian for letting me be part of your family's story!

Adalynn

There really is nothing quite like photographing a brand new baby.  Creamy soft skin, tiny features, whispy hair and all the newness of a week old baby....there isn't much better or more inspirational.  I could have photographed Adalynn all day long!  Once she settled in and fell asleep she was a perfect little model. She is beautiful and very, very loved.  I had a great time catching up with her momma too, who happens to be a great friend and also does my hair!  (Come back from maternity leave soon--I need a trim!)   Allison, thanks for letting me visit and snap photos of your little princess.  Congrats to you, Casey and big brother Cole!  I know you are all so proud and thankful for your beautiful girl and we are so happy for you!

The Koteckis | Family Session

I was excited when Leslie contacted me about photos for her family!  I had heard of Leslie and think we were even on the same strand of emails once or twice and attended the same women's retreat, since we're both part of New Life Christian Church.  The crazy thing is, I had never met her!  (She goes to our Chantilly campus and I'm in Haymarket.  If that confuses you, check out the explanation here.  Shameless plug for our church... :))  It was fun to finally put a face with a name and to meet her family too!  Since the kiddos are similar in age to my kids, it was really fun talking and laughing with them.  (They taught me some great jokes!)  I've also decided their family could easily be in a magazine or in the sample photo that comes in the frame!  :)  Thanks for a great session, guys!
