Megan & Dan | Baldwin Farm Wedding, Aylett VA

As we drove South I kept praying that the rain would pass!  The forecast showed scattered storms through the whole day but we all know that forecasts can be wrong and I was really hoping this one was. Megan and Dan are the sweetest couple and I knew that so much time, effort and planning had gone into their outdoor wedding.  I was a nervous wreck for them!  About 30 minutes before I got to the venue a small ray of light started to shine through the clouds.  And by the time we arrived at The Baldwin Farm, the scattered showers had scattered!  It did rain on and off all day, but it didn't spoil a thing!  I absolutely loved witnessing these two begin their life as one.  I'm excited to share just a sample of their day with you!

Dan and Megan both recently graduated from JMU, so Megan's sister made this adorable cake topper for them!

Owen is One! | Manassas Battlefield Family Session

I met Bryan and Michelle when they were expecting Owen.  I was actually preparing to photograph Michelle's sister's wedding when they contacted me about maternity photos!  They have such a fun and sweet family.  I was really excited when Michelle wrote me to ask about setting up a one year session for Owen.  (And, I couldn't believe it had been that long!)  We met at the Stone Bridge area at Manassas Battlefield.  Here are some of my favorites from our session.

Owen is such a happy boy!  All it took to get this smile was a little fake sneezing! :)

I even got to get a few photos of mom and dad at the end of the session!

Kniceleys, it was great!  So glad I got to meet owen and see you guys again.  Enjoy this fun age--Owen is  just so sweet!

Vanessa & Kevin | Sunset Crest Manor Wedding

Vanessa and Kevin are such a sweet couple with a great love story!  They first met while working at Dick's Sporting Goods the summer before they left for college.  Although they went to seperate schools (Vanessa to VA Tech and Kevin to Radford), their love stood the test of time and 10 years later they said "I do" in front of friends and family at Sunset Crest Manor in Chantilly, VA!  Here are some of my favorite images from their day.

Kevin and Vanessa chose to do a first look, which I always love!  I could hear Kevin telling Vanessa how beautiful she was over and over again.  So sweet!

About 10 minutes before the ceremony began, a huge black cloud started to move in.  Everyone got nervous, but just before Vanessa came down the aisle the sun came out!  Thankfully, the rain stayed away until it was time to move inside for the reception.

Vanessa is originally from Nova Scotia.  I loved how they incorporated her home into the decor for the reception.  So creative and unique!

The reception was such a fun party--from the first dance to the last!

I was able to pull Vanessa and Kevin away for a few more photos toward the end of the night.
